Your Partner Before & After Eye Surgery

If you’re thinking about LASIK or preparing for cataract surgery, you don’t have to navigate the process alone. At North Coast Eye Care, we work closely with top local ophthalmologists to make sure your surgical experience is smooth, informed, and fully supported.

We call it co-management, and it means you get the best of both worlds: expert surgical care from a trusted specialist, and the personalized, relationship-based support you’ve come to expect from your neighbourhood eye doctor. With convenient locations in Amherst, Avon, and North Ridgeville, you don’t have to travel far to get comprehensive care.

What is Co-Management?

Co-management means your care is shared between your optometrist and your eye surgeon, and that’s a good thing.

Here’s how it works: You’ll continue to see your North Coast Eye Care doctor for most of your visits, including your pre-surgery evaluation and post-surgery follow-ups. We’ll coordinate with your surgeon to ensure everyone’s on the same page and your care remains seamless from start to finish.

What that means for you:

  • You keep seeing the optometrist you already know and trust.
  • We help you choose the right procedure and timing.
  • You don’t have to bounce between offices for every single visit.
  • Your surgeon gets detailed reports from our team (and vice versa).

Whether you're preparing for LASIK or managing cataracts, we’re here to guide, translate, monitor, and support every step of the way.

LASIK Surgery: Clear Vision, Less Hassle

LASIK surgery is a popular laser procedure that reshapes the cornea to correct vision. It has helped millions of people reduce or eliminate their need for glasses and contact lenses. At North Coast Eye Care, we don’t perform the surgery, but we do play a key role in making sure it’s the right fit.

Here’s how we help:

  • Candid evaluations—not everyone is a candidate, and we’ll give you honest feedback.
  • Advanced diagnostics, including corneal topography, OCT scans, and anterior segment imaging to assess eye shape and thickness.
  • Refer you to experienced LASIK surgeons we know and trust.
  • Post-operative care after surgery, handling your follow-ups, and a personalized healing plan are all available right here in our office.

Whether you’ve been considering LASIK for years or just heard about it last week, we’ll help you explore your options with clarity, not pressure.

Cataract Surgery: Restoring Clarity as You Age

Cataracts are a normal part of aging, but that doesn’t mean you have to live with cloudy or blurry vision. When the time is right, cataract surgery can restore your sight and improve your quality of life.

We’ll help you understand when it’s time to consider surgery, what to expect during the process, and how to choose the right intraocular lens (IOL) for your lifestyle and visual goals.

Here’s how we support you:

  • Ongoing monitoring to track changes in your vision and lens clarity over time.
  • Pre-surgical evaluations, including detailed imaging and measurements.
  • Referral to a trusted local surgeon whom we’ve worked with and trust.
  • Post-surgical care for healing checks, vision adjustments, and any long-term support you need.

Our goal is to make the process smooth, familiar, and fully supported — from the first signs of cataracts to your clearest vision yet.
